Objective: To determine the positivity and patterns of positive results of rapid antibody tests against SARS-CoV-2 in patients attending to an Emergency Service. Material and methods: Retrospective evaluation of the rapid antibody tests against SARS-CoV-2 applied during the month of June 2020 in the Emergency Service of the Hospital EsSalud G.Almenara, Lima, Peru. Results: We included 1805 tests performed on the same number of patients. In 864 (48%) of the tests were positive, in the following order: combined IgM-IgG pattern in 635 (73%), IgM in 134 (16%) and finally IgG in 95 (11%). Conclusions: The positivity of the rapid antibody tests against SARS-CoV-2 was 48%, and the combined pattern of IgM-IgG was the most frequent in three quarters of the confirmed cases.

Objective: To identify laboratory results associated with the risk of death in patients hospitalized for COVID-19. Material and methods: retrospective cohort study of patients admitted for COVID-19 at the Hospital Nacional EsSalud Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen in Lima, between March 21 and May 12, 2020. The laboratory tests included in the study were those of hospital admission. A Cox analysis was done to determine factors associated with death. Results: a total of 433 patients were included: 253 cases (58%) with positive RT-PCR and 180 cases (42%) with reactive rapid antibody test. And, 55% (240/433) and 59% (256/433) had leukocytosis and relative lymphopenia (≤10%), respectively. 56% (49/87) had D-dimer greater than two mg/L. However, higher than normal values were presented in 39% (152/393) for urea and 19% (77/397) for creatinine, as well as 73% (228/313) for aspartate aminotra...

Objective: To estimate the prevalence of post-vaccination seropositivity against SARS-CoV-2 and identify its predictors in Peruvian Social Health Insurance (EsSalud) personnel in 2021. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study in a representative simple stratified sample of EsSalud workers. We evaluated IgG anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies response (seropositivity) by passive (previous infection) and active immunization (vaccination), and epidemiological and occupational variables obtained by direct interview and a data collection form. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used with correction of sample weights adjusted for non-response rate, and crude and adjusted odds ratio (OR) and geometric mean ratio (GMR) with their respective 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) were estimated. Results: We enrolled 1077 subjects. Seropositivity was 67.4% (95%CI: 63.4–71.1). Predictors of seropo...
