Objetivo: Evaluar la asociación entre atención prenatal inadecuada (APNI) y bajo peso al nacer (BPN) en recién nacidos de madres de gestación única en Perú. Métodos: Fue un análisis secundario de datos de la Encuesta de Demografía y Salud de 2019. Se incluyó un total de 10.186 mujeres en edad reproductiva (15 – 49 años) que dieron a luz a un hijo único en los últimos 5 años. La variable dependiente fue BPN (< 2500 g). Las variables independientes fueron APNI (inadecuado: cuando al menos uno de los componentes de APNI estaba ausente [número de visitas de APN ≥ 6, primera visita de APN durante el primer trimestre, cumplimiento del contenido de la visita de APN y visitas de APN realizadas por personal de salud capacitado]) y cada uno de sus componentes. Methods We performed a secondary analysis of data from the 2019 Demographic and Health Survey.
