La relación entre la ciudadanía y la autoridad es crucial para entender la debilidad de la democracia en Latinoamérica. La escuela es el espacio donde se construyen los patrones relacionales con la autoridad. El presente estudio cualitativo busca analizar la relación con la autoridad del profesor en el sistema escolar en 7 estudiantes (M=16, DE=0, 100% hombres) y 4 profesores (M =41.25, DE=6.55, 50% hombres) de último año de educación secundaria en un colegio privado en Lima Metropolitana. Se aplicaron entrevistas no directivas a profundidad y un focus group en profesores y estudiantes, respectivamente. TikTok is without any doubt the most popular social media among Gen Zers. Originally born as a lip-syncing app, it can be exploited in different ways; as such, it represents a new fertile space for political communication. In this vein, previous studies have shown that politicians all over the planet are joining the platform as a tool to connect with younger audiences. This study examines the use of TikTok in the last presidential elections in Peru. During a global pandemic, the great impact of populist discourse on the construction of social reality is undeniable. This study analyzes the fantasmatic dimension of political discourse from Donald Trump’s and Jair Bolsonaro’s Twitter accounts between 1 March and 31 May. To do so, it applies a Clause-Based Semantic Text Analysis (CBSTA) methodology that categorizes speech in Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) triplets. The study findings show that in spite of the Coronavirus pandemic, the main beatific and horrific subjects remain the core populist signifiers: the people and the elite. While Bolsonaro’s narrative was predominantly beatific, centered on the government, Trump’s was mostly horrific, centered on the elite.
