Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic led to a quarantine in Peru seeking the greatest social distancing. Objective: To determine the effect of quarantine on eating behavior, physical activity and mental health before and during this period in older adults in Trujillo. Study: Observational, descriptive, longitudinal in 350 older adults, by means of virtual survey on frequency of food consumption, physical activity and changes in mental health, analyzed by chi-square. Findings: The intake of alcoholic beverages and fast food decreased. The level of physical activity decreased significantly. Feelings of loneliness, depression, anxiety, among others, increased. Perception of weight gain and waist size increase was found. La ferritina se incrementa por una fuerte reacción inflamatoria producto del SARS-COV 2; por lo que se realizó una revisión narrativa que pretende determinar la asociación entre la ferritina sérica y la gravedad en pacientes con COVID-19. Se abordó una búsqueda bibliográfica en las bases de datos Google Scholar, MEDLINE, PubMed, World Wide Science, Kidney International, ScienceDirect y Scielo. Se encontró que la media de ferritina sérica se incrementó desde los casos leves a los críticos de COVID-19, siendo mayor en los no sobrevivientes. Se concluye que existe una relación positiva entre la gravedad por COVID-19 y los niveles elevados de ferritina sérica, por lo que, su determinación puede seleccionar pacientes que potencialmente tengan mayor riesgo de evolucionar desfavorablemente y de esta manera poder ofrecer un tratamiento más rápido y eficaz.
