Con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto del formol y el extracto acuoso de las hojas de Mansoa alliacea “ajos sacha” (EAHAS) en el control de parásitos monogeneos presentes en adultos de Otocinclus affinis, se realizaron exámenes parasitológicos a 400 especímenes, analizándose piel, aletas y branquias; los monogeneos fueron fijados en láminas permanentes mediante el método de Grey & Wess, y se determinó sus índices parasitarios: prevalencia, intensidad media, abundancia media. Platynematichthys notatus (Jardine, 1841), popularly known as "lince cat" stands out for being a very popular species in the ornamental fish market, being exported to different parts of the world. Despite its economic importance, the existing information on helminths that parasitize this species is very scarce. In this sense, the present study identified monogenoids that parasitize the gills of this fish. The gills of ten specimens of P. notatus from the commercial aquarium AQUATRADE SAC, placed in Iquitos-Peru were analyzed. The present study reports three cases of problems on farmed Arapaima gigas in the Peruvian and Brazilian Amazon (1st case: Jaundice disease in farmed Arapaima gigas (Schinz, 1822) in Pará, Brazil; 2nd case: Gas bubble disease in farmed Arapaima gigas from the Peruvian amazon and 3rd case: Mortalities caused by fights between sexually mature females of Arapaima gigas. All cases were reported during field expeditions to fish farms.
