Possibly, from the earliest times, societies have tried to organize the environment and explain it through formulas that were originally born from magic. Celestial and telluric phenomena, as well as everyday events, had their justification in beliefs linked to the supernatural or to an alternative reality, whose events were not under the direct will of man who, however, could channel them in some way through ritual. and propriety. These worldviews tried to contemplate reality and its different facets under a single explanatory system and in its entirety.

The different ways in which an ancient myth of the origin of food has been recorded and survived to these day are exposed. These expressions are concentrated in the central highlands of Peru (Lima, Ancash, Pasco and Huánuco). We find data on the Raywana myth in ethnohistory, ethnography, archeology, and place names. This varied material and immaterial evidence would sustain its conceptual coherence and great influence in the central Andes, assuming a continuity and a prominent place in the Andean religious pantheon up to the present.
