Se realizó un estudio de tipo experimental y prospectivo, con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto osteoinductor del MTA y Cemento Portland en una lesión ósea producida en mandíbula de conejo. Se utilizaron en el presente estudio 12 conejos macho raza New Zealand, de 3 meses de edad. Los conejos se agruparon en 4 grupos a experimentar de 3 integrantes cada uno (grupos A, B, C y D). Todos los conejos fueron anestesiados utilizando Pentobarbital. A cada conejo se le realizó 3 cavidades de 2mm cada una, de las cuales a 2 de ellas se les coloco MTA y Cemento Portland, dejando la 3ra cavidad sin ninguna pasta como control. Las pastas colocadas se mantuvieron en el hueso mandibular en un periodo de 1, 2, 3 y 4 semanas correspondiendo a los grupos experimentales A, B, C y D respectivamente. Ludwig’s angina is a rapidly progressive cellulitis that involves sub mandibular, sub lingual and submental spaces bilaterrally. This was due mainly to per apical infections of the second and third mandible molars. Due to the rapid advancement of the clinical (which in certain occasions could even threaten the patient’s life) it is extremely important to know clearly the criteria for early diagnosis of Ludwig’s angina, which will enable us to provide the most appropriate treatment to halt the progress of the clinical and will prevent the onset of life-threatening complications.
