This investigation tries to identify risk factors for tubal infertility. The authors studied 400 cases attended at María Auxiliadora Hospital. We selected 284 cases with sufficient information, 112 had tubal infertility and 172 had infertility by other factors. When the authors compared both groups, they found that abortion, induced abortion, PID, endometriosis and pelvic surgery were more frequent in patients with tubal infertility. Conclusion: The authors recommend that physicians adopt preventive reproductive measures in postpartum and postabortion complications, STD (PID included) and pelvic surgery.
