This presentation will analyze the psychology of the Peruvian woman represented in «La conspiración de la saya y manto». Therefore, the following topics will be analyzed: the arrival of the saya (part of the female clothing composed of a long colorful pleated skirt that left the feet visible) and the manto (part of the female clothing made of black silk that was tied around the waist and covered the back and almost the entire face) to Peru, the social situation of women, the significance of the tapada (use of the elements of the female clothing of the XVI century) limeña for three hundred years, the expansion to nearby countries and its end in the XIX century. The purpose of this article is to analyse mental health in Peru from the 19th century onwards and to compare it with the current situation in the face of the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, it seeks to report on how the lack of intervention by a specialist in the mental and social area leads citizens to a decline in their personality. Indeed, on the eve of the bicentenary, optimal emotional, psychological and social well-being should be achieved through attention to the mental health of every Peruvian. This is not the case due to the colonial heritage we still carry with us, which includes our slavery to marginality, rejection and selfishness, which deteriorates our beliefs and actions. For this reason, the story of Ricardo Palma’s «El médico inglés» is taken to highlight the concern for effective medical care, beyond physical health.

The university stage demands academic demands that provoke maladjusted behavior in students, considering them as difficult or threatening situations. Therefore, the study focuses on undergraduate students at the Ricardo Palma University, in order to find the significant differences between the faculty, the year of admission and sex compared to the Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Uncertainty and Desirability scales. Social of the INDACPS-N 2022 questionnaire, applied to a sample of 533 participants. The results show that there are significant differences between the Stress and Depression Scale, and the Faculty (p<0.05). On the other hand, entrants from 2017 to 2021 presented a high category of maladjusted behavior compared to entrants from 1988 to 2016.
