Desde que la viruela símica (Mpox) es declarada como Emergencia de Salud Pública de Importancia Internacional (ESPII) por la OMS diversas medidas han sido implementadas en todos los países que han confirmado casos, con énfasis en las medidas de Prevención y Control de la Infección (PCI) que tienen por objetivo evitar la diseminación del Mpox, entre las que podemos destacar la implementación de medidas de precaución estándar, de contacto, para gotas respiratorias y aerosoles para cualquier paciente sospechoso o confirmado de Mpox; al realizar procedimientos que produzcan aerosoles los profesionales de salud deben utilizar las mascarilla N95/PFF2 y debe ser realizado en local apropiado; las áreas dentro del establecimiento de salud que el paciente usa con frecuencia o donde se llevan a cabo las actividades de atención al paciente y los equipos utilizados con el paciente deben l...

Introduction: enlargement of superficial lymph nodes is a frequent clinical finding which may be among the first evidences of a significant illness or of a specific clinical syndrome.Objective: exploring clinico-pathological relationships in patients consulting for the first time with a clinically detectable lymphadenopathy and no defined diagnosis.Materials and Methods: cross sectional prospective study including patients with clinically detectable lymphadenopathy (nodes over 1 cm in diameter) and often also suspicion of tuberculosis. Lymph node biopsies, fine needle aspirations, and other contributing diagnostic tests were performed.
