A clinical investigation has been realized with the purpose of testing the sensibity and the specificity of Krogh Poulsen muscle exploration, on 80 individuals of both sexes bethwen 15 and 50 years of age were randomy selected that assisted to the dental service of Guillermo Almenara Hospital. Procedures to diagnoses temporomandibular disorders were appied, refered by the Krogt Poulsen muscle exploration and the Helkimo's index. The present study constituted the "gold standard" Validity formula based on the table of four boxes were applied. Parametric test of Z scores of were applied and cualitative variables were proved by the chi square test. The results indicated a sensitivity of 78% and a specifity of 100% on the Krogh Poulsen muscle exploration. This showed it is major utility in the Diagnoses of healty individuals. The most frecuent distintive signs were the minimization in the ope...

Introduction. This article summarizes the evidence-based recommendations of the clinical practice guide (CPG) for the treatment of patients with odontogenic infections (dentoalveolar abscess, facial cellulitis and cervicofacial abscess) in the Social Security of Health of Peru (EsSalud). Objective. To provide evidence-based clinical recommendations for the treatment of patients with odontogenic infections in EsSalud. Methods. A guideline development group (GEG) was formed that included dental surgeons, specialists, and methodologists. The GEG formulated four clinical questions to be answered in this CPG. We conducted systematic searches for systematic reviews and - when deemed relevant - primary studies in PubMed and CENTRAL during 2019. The evidence was selected to answer each of the clinical questions posed. The certainty of the evidence was assessed using the Grading of Recommendation...

We report a 35-year-old female patient with Glanzmann's thrombasthenia (GT) and severe anemia due to abnormal uterine bleeding secondary to uterine myomatosis. She required several admissions of red blood cells and platelet transfusions. An elective subtotal hysterectomy with salpingo-oophorectomy was proposed and recombinant factor VII was required. Surgical and postoperative outcomes were successful, without surgical complications, bleeding, or hemogram alterations. 4 years later, she required tooth extraction because of periodontal disease and pulp necrosis. In Peru, reports of GT patients requiring major and minor surgical procedures are lacking, given the low disease prevalence and the difficulties related to surgery. The report of these successful cases becomes relevant to continue improving GT management.
