Objective: To determine the level of uncertainty in the parents during the hospitalization of the newborn in a public hospital in Chiclayo, 2020. Method: Quantitative research carried out through a pilot, descriptive, non-experimental and cross-sectional study; The population and sample consisted of 30 parents of hospitalized infants, the sampling was non-probabilistic for convenience. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el nivel de incertidumbre en los padres durante la hospitalización del neonato en un hospital público de Chiclayo, 2020. Fue de tipo cuantitativa mediante un estudio piloto, descriptivo, no experimental y transversal; la población y muestra estuvo constituida por 30 padres de neonatos hospitalizados, el muestreo fue no probabilístico por conveniencia.
