In 116 alpacas and 12 vicuñas, there have been various hematological determinations. The results obtained were subjected to statistical analysis and compared with values obtained by other authors.

A study of Mountain Sickness is made in three highly bred Brown Swiss calves born at 4,000 meters above sea level and also in one imported Holstein cow which carried to 3,500 meters above sea level. The observations made in this study in refference to the findings hematological and anatomo pathological picture, corroborate findiungs made by Glover and Newsom. As original observations are pointed the hipertrophy, hiperplasia, necrosis and hemorrhage of the adrenal glands, atrophy of linfoid tissue, degenerative lesions of myocardial fibers and blood corpuscles values.

Successive determinations of tocopherol in blood serum and Complete blood count, practiced in a group of nine normal lambs up to 4,000 meters above sea level; for a period of 240 days, there has been a statistically significant, in the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin and hematocrit reaches the highest at 60 days old values and coincides with the lowest values tocopherol ds considerable increase blood serum. From this age haematological values decreased progressively, reaching 240 days figures fall within the variation accepted rams high. It suggests that the variations found in the blood cell and serum tocopherol box in relation to age, are physiological.
