This study aimed to determine hemoglobin, hematocrit and risk of anemia in adult residents of both sexes of the population center of Santa Elena in the province of Viru, La Libertad department, December - 2012; prior informed consent, samples were taken and biochemical determinations of hemoglobin was performed by the method cyanmethaemoglobin and Hematocrit by the method of Microhematocrit.
