Este estudio cualitativo longitudinal investigó las expectativas y experiencias relacionadas con el parto de once adolescentes embarazadas de bajo nivel socioeconómico del Sur de Brasil. Ellas fueron entrevistadas en el segundo trimestre del embarazo y al segundo mes del nacimiento del bebé. El análisis de contenido cualitativo reveló una preferencia por el parto normal (debido a la mayor rapidez de recuperación) y sentimientos de miedo y ansiedad relativos al parto. Sobre la experiencia del parto, se observó un predominio de los partos vaginales y sentimientos de felicidad, así como informes de dolor. Un número reducido de participantes fueron acompañadas por su pareja o figuras femeninas. Se constató tanto correspondencia como ausencia de correspondencia con las expectativas para ese evento. This longitudinal qualitative study investigated the expectations and experiences related to childbirth of eleven South Brazilian adolescents of low socioeconomic status. They were interviewed in the second trimester of pregnancy and in the baby’s second month. A qualitative content analysis revealed a preference for normal delivery, due to faster recovery, and feelings of fear and anxiety. As for the experience of childbirth, there was a predominance of vaginal deliveries and feelings of happiness, as well as reports of pain. Only a few participants were accompanied by female figures or partners. Both connection and disconnection with the expectations for this event were reported. In general, the finding sindicate a similar scenery to that found among adult mothers.

Objective: To describe the characteristics of violence against adolescents in Brazil reported from the Violence and Accident Surveillance System (VIVA). Methods: A descriptive study, based on data from the VIVA, Brazil, from2009 to 2016. The variables analyzed were age, gender, race, place of occurrence, bond between the aggressor and the victim, and suspected of alcohol use in cases of physical, psychological/moral and sexual violence. Descriptive statistics and tends proportion test with STATA were used. Results: The prevalence rate of physical violence in the 15-19 years age bracket reached 104.4 per 100,000 cases, and the prevalence of sexual violence in the 10-14 years age bracket was 38.5 per 100,000 cases.
