Introducción: La caries dental es una disbiosis manifestada principalmente por el consumo alto de azúcares fermentables, cuando se presenta en niños menores de 71 meses de edad se denomina caries de infancia temprana, siendo afectada severamente la calidad de vida del niño. Objetivo: Determinar el conocimiento sobre caries de infancia temprana en madres de niños menores de 5 años 11 meses de edad, en el Centro Dental Docente de la Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima Perú, 2019. Materiales y métodos: Se llevó a cabo un estudio descriptivo, observacional, transversal, donde se realizaron 285 encuestas a madres de niños menores de 5 años 11 meses de edad. Amelogénesis imperfecta (AI) is an inherited disorder that affects enamel, characterized by hypomineralization or hypoplasia with discoloration, sensitivity and fragility. Report an uncooperative female patient aged five is taken to the emergency Cayetano Heredia Dental Clinic because of pain. During the anamnesis the parent revealed his second son had the same condition as his younger daughter.Clinical and radiographic evaluation the patient presented: multiple cavitated lesions, necrotic pulp and enamel hypoplasia.
