The aim of this study was to determine the effect of two or three days of fasting per week with an increase of 20% in the post-fasting ration on growth, survival, biomass, feed consumption and relative conversion factor (FCR) of Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp grown in the laboratory at a density equivalent to that of a semi-intensive system. Con el objetivo de determinar el efecto que tienen dos y tres días consecutivos de ayuno semanales y un incremento de la ración post ayuno en el crecimiento, supervivencia y factor de conversión alimenticia de juveniles de Litopenaeus vannamei, La experimentación se llevó a cabo en 9 acuarios de vidrio con 90 L de capacidad de trabajo en un laboratorio de la Facultad de Ingeniería Pesquera y Ciencias del Mar de la Universidad Nacional de Tumbes. Se utilizaron 3 repeticiones por cada tratamiento más un control (alimentado todos los días). Se colocaron en cada acuario 8 juveniles de aproximadamente 5 g de peso provenientes de cultivo comercial de la zona.
