La dispepsia es uno de los síndromes gastrointestinales más frecuentes en Latinoamérica, siendo los estudiantes universitarios una de las poblaciones en que más se ha estudiado durante las clases presenciales; sin embargo, se desconoce su prevalencia durante la época de educación remota en nuestra casa de estudios y si los factores que comúnmente se le asocian estuvieron presentes en este contexto. Objetivo: conocer los factores asociados a dispepsia en estudiantes de medicina de la Universidad Privada de Tacna durante la educación remota debido a la pandemia del COVID-19. Introduction: Late-onset Pompe disease is an extremely rare enzyme characterized by incapacitating and progressive neuromuscular damage. There is still no consensus on treatment, but clinical trials have shown that enzymatic replacement with recombinant alpha-glucosidase acid could slow the natural course of the disease and improve prognosis. Clinical case: A 67-year-old man diagnosed with Pompe disease for 4 years, in treatment with physical rehabilitation. He entered the service for right lower limb cellulite that decompensates his background leading to severe respiratory failure. Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed more than two million lives, leading to the collapse of health systems around the world, especially in low-income countries. As the pandemic progressed, the imbalance between the supply of and demand for medical resources created ethical dilemmas regarding how best to allocate available resources. Discussion: Peru did not have the necessary resources to deal with a pandemic like that of COVID-19, which is why its health system collapsed, showing the highest mortality rate worldwide during the first wave.
