The early development of the Patagonian squid, Loligo gahi D’Orbigny,1835, was studied in the field and in the laboratory. Egg strands, spawned off San Lorenzo Island, Peru, were collected, carried to the laboratory, and incubated in a closed sea water system. Egg capsules ranged from 88 to169 mm in length, and each capsule contained between 56 and 114 fertilized eggs. Individual eggs ranged from 1,7 to 2,1 mm in length, and the mantle length of hatchlings varied from 1,9 to 2,8 mm. Development took about 20 days at a mean temperature of 19 ºC. The pattern of embryonic development is similar to that previously observed in other species of Loligo. Following hatching, paralarvaes survived for 45 days with a diet of zooplankton (copepods, mysids and polychaete larvaes).

The Gould Octopus, Octopus mimus Gould, 1852 is widely distributed along the Peruvian coast and is target of an important artisanal fishery. The size-weight relationship in Ilo and Callao shows an allometric growth for both sexes. The females reach a spawning size at 14,3 cm of mantle length. That size was used to estimate a minimum weight of catch of 1 Kg. The diet was variable and it included crustaceans, mollusks, fish and echinoderms. Catches were six times higher during El Niño 1997– 1998 than El Niño 1982-1983. The present data is compared and discussed with those of Chile.

In the present paper the species from the genus LolligunculaSteentrup, 1881 (Cephalopoda: Loliginidae) in Southeastern Pacific Ocean are reviewed. The presence of Lolliguncula (Lolliguncula) panamensisBerry, 1911, Lolliguncula (Loliolopsis) diomedeae Hoyle, 1911 and Lolliguncula (Lolliguncula) argusBrakoniecki and Roper, 1985 are confirmed from Mexican waters to Perú and the species Lolliguncula (Lolliguncula) arguscollected during a cruise of the R/V Anton Bruunfrom 1966 off the coast of South America is recorded for the first time in Peruvian waters. A key to identification of Pacific species is given. We report a diagnostic feature with taxonomic remarks of these species. Updated information on the distribution, biology, and fisheries of each species also is discussed.

The family Ocythoidae on the basis of literature and Peruvian material is reviewed. This family has a single genus and species, Ocythoe tuberculata Rafinesque, 1814. It is an epipelagic species and possibly cosmopolitan in warm oceanic waters (subtropical) of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indico Oceans and Mediterranean Sea. Information on the systematics and Biology of the species is presented.

The octopus deep-sea Muusoctopus longibrachus (Ibañez et al. 2006) is recorded for the first time in the Peruvian sea. Two male specimens were caught at 852 – 875 m depth between 05°08'S and 09°18'S. This species was known only from Chile, in the present study extends its distribution north to Peru.

The family Chamidae in Peru is revised, which includes eleven species, distributed in the genus Arcinella Schumacker, 1817 and Chama Linnaeus, 1758. Chama frondosa Broderip, 1835, Chama granti (Strong, 1934), Chama hicksi Valentich-Scott & Coan, 2010, Chama janus Reeve, 1847 and Chama producta Broderip, 1835 are recorded for the first time. Descriptions and data about distribution, ecology and other remarks are given for all species.

In this paper, ‘Octopus’ selene is first registered in Peruvian waters and its distribution range extends south to Cabo Blanco, Piura, Peru. Four male specimens of 34 – 50 mm ML were captured between 03°34'S and 04°06'S at depths of 109 – 150 m. A brief description is provided, with taxonomic observations and comments on its geographical distribution of this species.

Calloplax vivipara (Plate, 1899) is formal recorded for the first time in the southern Peruvian coast. Four specimens were found in rocky intertidal environment under blocks of stones in Islay, Arequipa, in December 2013 and October 2019. A female of 9.2 mm body length collected in the spring of 2013 presented six juveniles in the external part of the insertion zone of the ctenidia in the pallial groove, constituting the first case of an incubating chiton in Peru.

Seis especies de Bivalvia: Adrana sowerbyana (Orbigny, 1845); Malletia goniura Dall, 1890; Mytilus strigatus Hanley, 1843; Leiosolenus spatiosa (Carpenter, 1857); Pinna rugosa G.B. In the present work the taxonomic of the family Calyptraeidae Lamarck, 1809 in the Peruvian coast are reviewed. The presence of 17 species of the 19 is confirmed reported by diverse authors. Crepidula arenata (Broderip, 1834) is synonymous of C. excavata (Broderip, 1834). Information on the distribution geographical and same relations ecological is presented.
