El objetivo de la presente investigación fue elaborar el perfil epidemiológico de la Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2, debido a su rápido incremento por múltiples factores, asociado a complicaciones graves; con la finalidad de informar a los servicios para que tomen acciones pertinentes. Mediante un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo comparativo en 380 pacientes con diagnóstico de Diabetes Mellitus tipo 2 atendidos en el servicio de medicina interna del Hospital Regional Docente las Mercedes (HRDLM) y Provincial Docente Belén Lambayeque (HPDBL), 2015 – 2016.
