El objetivo de esta tesis fue determinar la relación entre la obesidad materna y el riesgo de parto pretérmino en el Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal de Lima; así como establecer la presencia de los factores asociados a obesidad materna. Se realizó un trabajo de tipo observacional, analítico, longitudinal, retrospectivo de casos y controles. Se trabajó con una muestra de 149 casos y controles. Se tuvo como resultados que la prevalencia fue de 53% de sobrepeso y obesidad en el índice de masa corporal pregestacional, así como una mayor prevalencia de obesidad en el grupo de casos (parto pretérmino) 58% en comparación del grupo control (partos a término). El 20.7% de los partos atendidos durante el segundo semestre del 2017 fueron pretérminos, de los cuales el 3.9% fueron pretérminos severos (28 a 32 ss.) y pretérminos extremos (22 a 27ss). Objectives. To determine the relation between hyperemesis gravidarum and the newborn weight at Maternal Perinatal National Institute during 2008. Materials and methods. A correlational retrospective study was carried out in 120 pregnant women with hyperemesis gravidarum who were seen from January to december in 2008 at this institute. A documentary observation method was utilized in the clinical records, and some investigation about the general characteristics involving mothers and newborns was also made. The datum were analyzed through significant descriptive and inferential statistics with hypothesis testing at a level of statistical significance p<0,05. Results.
