Until the last decade, access barriers and weak mechanisms of caution restricted the right to health of Peruvians. In 2009, the policy of Universal Health Insurance (AUS) was instituted. In 2013, the National Health Insurance Agency (SIS) Offices for health insurance consumer assistance (OAA) were set up to ensure compliance with the access, quality and gratuity of care for its affiliated. Between 2015 and 2018, the SIS and the SISTEC Program executed a project in five regions of the country that contributed to the strengthening of processes of assistance to the affiliated to SIS. The project has generated evidence on the contribution of the OAA to the AUS. There is a need for consensus and articulation between the sectorial organizations involved to the configuration of a system for the health consumer assistance and protection of their health rights.

Objetivo: Determinar el porcentaje de pacientes con diagnóstico post operatorio confirmatorio de apendicitis aguda que fueron intervenidos tardíamente en el Hospital de Apoyo de Chachapoyas (HACH), en un período de 5 años e identificar los principales factores que condicionaron la demora en la intervención quirúrgica. Material y métodos: Se revisaron las Historias Clínicas de los pacientes sometidos a apendicectomía en el HACH en un período de 5 años. Se incluyeron todos los pacientes con diagnóstico confirmado de apendicitis aguda. Resultados: Se incluyeron 108 pacientes, 41 de ellos (38%) fueron intervenidos tardíamente. To report the use of Ketoconazole as alternative treatment for Andean Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (ACL) in two high incidence zones in Amazonas Department. Methods: It was considered patients with confirmed diagnosis of ACL whom there were difficulties for the administration of Pentavalent Antimonials. It was not considered patients below 2 years old, pregnant or nursing woman and patients with wounds bigger than 5 cm. diameter. Patients above 12 years old received Ketoconazole 600 mg. daily for 28 days; patients below 12 years old received only 200 mg. It was made clinical follow-up weekly during the treatment. There were treated 2 patients above and 2 patients below 12 years old. The two younger and one of the older had not been received any previous medical treatment, the other one had been received two previous courses of Glucantime®. Objetivo: Determinar los valores medios de volumen testicular y de longitud del pene en varones de 5 a 9 años en el Distrito de San Martín de Porres. Material y Métodos: Fueron incluidos escolares entre 5 y 9 años de edad pertenecientes a colegios públicos y privados del Distrito de San Martín de Porres en Lima Metropolitana. Se determinó el volumen testicular por dos métodos: a) comparándolo con el Orquidómetro de Prader y b) midiendo sus ejes con un caliper, utilizando el método de Lambert. La longitud del pene fue medida con una regla rígida. Resultados: Se evaluó 515 varones.
