The main objective of this work is to analyze the performance of the Andean mountains, which in 1812, managed to install a government junta in Huánuco. The violent actions in this rebellion not only meant disorder and barbarism, but they also had a symbolic role, which came from a ritual rationality, expressed mainly through looting. Without ignoring the role that the Creole armies had in the process of American independence, this approach makes it possible to make visible the active participation and indigenous leadership during the regional phase of that process, towards the construction of the new States.

El presente artículo estudia la rebelión de Huánuco de 1812, considerando que los sectores populares tuvie­ron la capacidad de utilizar una cultura política propia. Para lograrlo, se prestó atención al papel que desempe­ñaron los rumores sobre la situación que atravesaba el virreinato por la ausencia del rey Fernando VII, las fiestas como el carnaval y el espacio público donde se difundió un discurso oculto de crítica política. De esta manera, se reflexionará sobre las aspiraciones que llevaron a levan­tarse a los rebeldes contra las autoridades españolas, más allá de solo los dirigentes criollos, logrando resca­tar parte de las expectativas políticas de la población del común.

The present work will seek to identify the historiographic analysis carried out by the researchers about the Huanuco rebellion in 1812, in the middle of the crisis of the Spanish monarchy and the installation of Cadiz Cortes, a period of abuses of the peninsular authorities against the population —by prohibiting them from exporting agricultural products and selling tobacco— which would have provoked discontent, uprising and the installation of a board in the area. The objective of this paper is to recognize those proposals on the causes, consequences, actors and the impact that the scholars have identified in this rebellion that go beyond the economic matter; especially what it is for the participation of the population of the common to manage to cover those gaps that could arise in the light of the new historical political perspective.

Analiza cómo los historiadores han abordado la rebelión de Huánuco presentando las investigaciones del siglo XIX y XX de forma cronológica; mientras que la historiografía del presente siglo fue abordada a partir de tres ejes temáticos: el alcance de la rebelión, la dirigencia y la venida del inca. Estudia las causas y el desarrollo de la rebelión considerando el papel de la violencia, más allá de los desmanes y desorden, como parte de la cultura política andina, haciendo un intento de comprender el papel que jugó los saqueos, degollamientos y hasta el enterramiento de una persona viva por oponerse a la rebelión. Gracias a estas acciones, estudiadas desde la interdisciplinariedad, se puede rescatar la lógica política de una parte de los rebeldes, algo difícil de realizarse puesto que fueron por mayoría una población ágrafa y además tampoco les resultaba conveniente dec...
