La presente investigación tuvo por objetivo general determinar la relación entre la Gestión curricular por competencias y la Calidad académica en la Facultad de Odontología de la UNMSM en el año 2010. El fundamento teórico respecto a la Gestión curricular por competencias fue elaborado en base al Manual de organización y funciones de la Facultad de Odontología de la UNMSM (2009:68) y en base al CONEAU (2008:46), respecto a la Calidad académica se fundamento en el concepto de Barreda (2007:67). La metodología que se utilizó con el fin de demostrar la hipótesis se elaboró en el enfoque cuantitativo, el tipo de investigación fue descriptivo explicativo correlacional y el diseño fue no experimental, transversal y correlacional. A mandibular buccal bifurcation cyst is an inflammatory odontogenic cyst that usually occurs on the buccal aspect of the permanent mandibular first or second molar and it occurs at an early age. The aim of present study is to report a case of mandibular buccal bifurcation cyst (MBBC) detected in a male pediatric patient. The main findings of this entity are reviewed and described. Clinically, slight effacement of vestibular sulcus base at the level of the first mandibular molar on the left side. A cone beam computed tomography was performed and revealed a hypodense image with defined limits, which conditions the displacement of the first mandibular molar on the left side toward the lingual cortex and the erosion of the buccal cortical bone (axial section).
