The perception held by college students about the human evolution plays a crucial role in the understanding of our natural history. This study assessed, through an oral survey, the perception of college students on some aspects of our natural history (665 students from a private university in Metropolitan Lima, from both science and humanities study programs). The results obtained indicate that 50% of the population surveyed consider that a god did not take part in the evolutionary process, which reflects a position in accordance with non-theistic evolution, i.e., a clearly evolutionary materialistic position. Se evaluó la percepción de la población citadina de Lima sobre algunos aspectos relacionados con la evolución e historia natural del ser humano. Un total de 384 personas mayores de 18 años, fueron evaluadas por medio de una encuesta oral. Los resultados indican que un 34% de la población de Lima desconoce el pasado de nuestra especie de al menos unos 70000 años, así como la historia evolutiva de los homínidos, que tiene al menos unos 4 millones de años; el 48% no está de acuerdo con que nos hayamos desarrollado de otras especies animales; y el 32% considera que los seres humanos vivimos al mismo tiempo que los dinosaurios. The wetlands of Callao have a variety of aquatic flora and fauna. These oases (Ventanilla Wetlands Regional Conservation Area (ACRHV), El Mirador Municipal Ecological Park and the Poza de la Arenilla-HCPA Coastal Wetland) are a great attraction for tourism and bird watching. However, there is only one wetland with protection status: Ventanilla Wetlands Regional Conservation Area (ACRHV). Although the other two wetlands are not protected, there are initiatives for their conservation. The importance of this article lies in identifying the bird species that these wetlands harbor, as well as having accurate information on the resident and migratory birdlife.
