Proper nutrition is the human body's first line of defense against various pathogens. against various pathogens. The intake of certain types of food can influence the can influence the risk of various diseases. In times of COVID-19, it is important to analyze the  relationship between the type of diet (alkaline or acidic) and the between the type of diet (alkaline or acidic) and health. The literature reviewed reports on various forms of the relationship between this attribute of diet and general wellbeing.

Objective. To evaluate lung capacity as a function of current volume (CV) and to analyze its influence in the presence of various external factors, such as physical activity (swimming), feeding and respiratory infection. Methods. The study was observational, descriptive, transversal and prospective. An online survey was conducted on a random sample of 50 university students between the ages of 17 and 20. CV was measured using a home spirometer and was classified under the IBM SPSS Statistics-24 program for statistical analysis. Results. From the surveys, the following data was obtained: the average CV of swimming students was (797.0 ± 2.0) ml. The average CV of students following a healthy diet was (567.00 ± 2.0) ml and the average CV of those with a respiratory history was (429.0 ± 2.0) ml. Conclusions. Having a diet rich in fruits and vegetables or having some physical activity grea...

The world diet during the Covid-19 pandemic was affected due to unexpected changes in lifestyle and eating habits, being harmful to health, therefore, this work aims to evaluate nutritional consumption, physical activity and body weight influenced by the variation of energy metabolism, before and during the pandemic in university students. The study was observational, descriptive, longitudinal, analytical and prospective. A survey was conducted with a random group of 103 students made up of 60 women and 43 men, whose 71.8% of the sample ranges between 16 and 20 years. The following selection criteria were considered: weight, height and physical activity, then data were collected and classified using statistical tables. The results showed a percentage increase of 5.63% in the general consumption of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids during the pandemic, and 46.60% of the respondents presen...

Objective. To evaluate the influence of the use of face masks on resting heartrate (HR) and physical activity in adults aged 18 to 60 years, in the city of Lima, during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Methods. An experimental, analytical, prospective and cross-sectional study was carried out. For data collection, a virtual survey was carried out via Google Forms, with a series of questions and indications for the correct measurement of HR in different situations: at rest, immediately after activity and 5 min after physical activity with and without the use of masks (KN95, fabric, surgical and N95). For the present study, the possible causes of increased HR were analyzed, so 60 asymptomatic adults, 40 women and 20 men, in the age range of 18 to 60 years, were selected. Results. It was found that the difference in mean HR with and without mask use immediatelyafter physical activity increase...
