El consumo del frijol castilla, por su alto valor nutricional, ha hecho posible que aumente la demanda en el mercado nacional e internacional, por lo que se viene incrementando más áreas de siembra en las regiones de Piura, Loreto, Lambayeque, Ucayali, Lima e Ica. En nuestra provincia se viene sembrando cada vez más áreas de siembra por la exigencia de la comercialización.
