The archaeological site of Huantinamarca is located in the district of San Miguel, in Lima (province and state), Peru. Reconstruye el proceso de planificación del “Día Internacional de los Museos” de los años 2013 y 2014 realizado por el área de Imagen Institucional del Museo Nacional de Arqueología, Antropología e Historia del Perú (MNAAHP). Compara las similitudes y diferencias de los factores que determinaron la realización del evento en ambos años. Describe el proceso de ejecución del evento en ambos casos ante la ausencia de un protocolo, desde el enfoque comunicación y de la gestión cultural. Identifica los aportes de la comunicación social en la gestión cultural a través de la evaluación de los resultados del evento.

El patrimonio cultural tiene la capacidad de conectar a las personas con el pasado, de ahí que sea considerado como fuente de identidad para las comunidades y con su adecuado manejo se contribuye con el bienestar de sus habitantes. Sin embargo, históricamente muchas poblaciones sortearon adversidades (como el clima o la voluntad política del momento) por resguardar ese patrimonio cultural, y solo organizándose e involucrando a las demás, lograron que subsista a través del tiempo y espacio, y así fortalecer su identidad cultural.
