The administration of human chorionic hormone and estrogen to normal rats, produces an atypical endometrial characterized histological simultaneous presence of proliferative and secretory changes. The core of epithelial cells shows that overall a more normal appearance and occasionally reaching vesicular large. Abnormal box can not be induced by treating rats with normal or chorionic estróqenos administered alone or both hormones to castrated animals. A similar alteration is, however; when ovariectomized rats are treated with large doses of estrogen and progesterone. Pathogenesis and the possible relationship of this alteration certain endometrial changes seen in humans is briefly discussed.

In 1954 we made the description and characterization of endometrial epithelial one alteration that occurs in some cases of chorionic, mola hidcrtidiforme, destruens chorioadenoma, cervical ectopic pregnancy and abortion. The alteration is characterized mainly by a nuclear hypertrophy with enlargement to a lesser degree in the cytoplasm and loss trend cell polarization. The affected glands may be secretory or proliferative, or show a pathological secretory and proliferative activity simultaneously. The cover may show epithelial injury. The alteration occurs focally compromising all or part of a gland or glands groups. Rarely is more or less diffuse. It may or not be decidual reaction.

The morphological characteristics of atypical epithelial disruption occurs in the seminal vesicle are described. The lesion is mainly characterized by focal areas in which there is marked nuclear hypertrophy and some degree of epithelial hyperplasia. The exioliadas hypertrophic cells can be confused with neoplastic cells. The alteration occurs mostly after the fourth decade. Inflammation and vascular sclerosis in the seminal vesicle, prostate gland hyperplasia, abnormality or atrophy of the testes, or pathological processes in each case apparently unrelated to the presence of the disturbance.

The histological features of atypical endometrial alterations we found in cases of uterine abortion, ectopic pregnancy, 44 cases described, hydatidiform mole, choriocarcinoma, destruens chorioadenoma, syncytial endometritis and normal uterine pregnancy, based on the study of 250 cases of uterine abortion, ectopic pregnancy, 32 cases of hydatidiform mole, 25 cases of chorionic, 6 cases of syncytial endometritis and 3 cases of apparently normal pregnancy.

Histological epidemiological experience, clinical, colposcopic, cytologic and has a solid foundation to the concept of cervical intraepithelial neoplastic disease. The various forms of dysplasia, carcinoma in situ and microinvasive carcinoma are thus initial understood as invasive evolving forms of the same biological process whose ultimate expression is the invasive carcinoma. With the appointment today of dysplasia qualify all atypical proliferations epidermoideas prior to cervical carcinoma in-situ. Cervical intraepithelial neoplastic disease is characterized by periods evolve regression and reoccurrence. The mild and moderate forms of dysplasia regressed more frequently than in-situ forms of severe dysplasia and carcinoma, rarely do. The origin of cervical neoplastic disease can be level or endocervix ectocervix. Most often it starts in the vicinity of the squamocolumnar area. A mino...

Objective: To compare Ayre spatula and cytobrush methods in uterine cervix premalignant and malignant lesions detection. Material and Methods: Endocervical smears taken from 140 patients with the Ayre spatula and cytobrush methods were extended on separate codified slides and examined by two different pathologists unaware of the smear collection method. Bethesda system was used for diagnosis. Results: Sixty-five versus thirty-five per cent of the samples had endocervical cells respectively obtained with the cytobrush and the Ayre spatula method. When analyzing the quantity of endocervical cells, the samples obtained with the cytobrush method had more than five clusters of endocervical cells (71,4%) than with the Ayre spatula method (36,4%). Conclusion: Cytobrush method seems to be more efficient than Ayre spatula method for obtaining endocervical cells.

The most recent and astonishing scientific advances have allowed the development of fertilization techniques based on the somatic cell nuclear transfer method. Thanks to this, it has been possible to widen knowledge about embryo cells, maintaining their pluripotentiality and now there are some cell banks available for therapeutic purposes. However, embryo cell manipulation has been the subject of many discussion from the scientific, ethics, and politics point of view, because of many fears generated by the likelihood of manipulating the genetic machinery of a non-differentiated totipotent stem cell.In the last Presidential Elections in the USA, Mr. Barack Obama proimised to strengthen research in this promising field. This promise opens the way for many patients that are awaiing for therapy options that nowadays still are not possible.
