Asimismo, esta investigación fue de tipo aplicada, de enfoque cuantitativo y de nivel descriptivo, y el diseño de investigaciòn fue no experimental de corte transversal. Se estimó una muestra de 385 personas y la técnica que se aplicó fue la encuesta. Los datos fueron analizados por el programa estadístico SPSS 22.0, y se obtuvo como resultado que el 37% de la población del distrito del Rímac presenta un nivel medio de conciencia turística. En conclusión, la población fue evaluada en tres aspectos importantes para el desarrollo del turismo en el Rímac: actitud, con un nivel medio; identidad, cuyo resultado fue alto; y participación, de nivel bajo.
