description RESUMEN La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación existente entre la ansiedad Estado - Rasgo y las habilidades sociales en alumnos del nivel secundario de la institución educativa policial Mariano Santos Mateos. La muestra estuvo constituida por 144 estudiantes de 2º, 3º y 4º año de educación secundaria. Para dicha investigación se les aplicó a los estudiantes dos instrumentos, El Inventario de Ansiedad Rasgo – Estado (IDARE) y La Escala de Habilidades Sociales de Gismero. Al analizar los resultados encontrados podemos ver que la ansiedad estado y las habilidades sociales se correlacionan altamente significativa al p<0.05 de manera negativa, donde a menor ansiedad estado mejoran las habilidades sociales. Por otro lado se observa una relación negativa entre la ansiedad rasgo y las habilidades sociales al p<0.05 observándose el mismo fenómeno. The sample consisted of 144 students of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of secondary education. For this research two instruments were applied to the students, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and Gismero’s Social Skills Scale. When analyzing the results it’s seen that the state anxiety and social skills correlate highly significant at p <0.05 in a negative way, where less anxiety state improves the social skills. On the other hand a negative relationship it’s seen between trait anxiety and social skills to p <0.05, the same phenomenon is observed.
