description La verborrea, según la psicología, es una alteración del habla que consiste en la enunciación de una gran cantidad de palabras con suma claridad y velocidad que usualmente cuenta con la intención de herir a una persona. Este fenómeno de la comunicación está presente en material audiovisual. Sin embargo, este representa problemas para la traducción audiovisual, en particular, con respecto a sus restricciones características. El propósito de esta investigación es explorar los componentes, las funciones y la traducción de la verborrea. De igual manera, el estudio contribuye a las investigaciones de la categoría de lenguaje alterado y traducción desde un enfoque funcionalista. El estudio de casos múltiples (Glee y Jane the Virgin) y el análisis de corpus monolingües y bilingües permitirán analizar este fenómeno del habla. El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo contrastar los componentes y la función de la verborrea en su versión fuente (corpus en inglés) y versiones meta (doblaje y subtitulación al español).

This phenomenom is portrayed in audiovisual material. However, rants represent problems to audiovisual translation because of medium restrictions. The aim of this research is to analyze the components, functions and translation of rants. It also contributes to the research on disorderly speech and translation through a functionalist approach. The research methods include multiple case study (Glee and Jane the Virgin) and contrastive text analysis.
