Se han encontrado diversos estudios que analizan la traducción de expresiones tabú al español latinoamericano y estos evidencian una tendencia a la atenuación y el uso de eufemismos. A pesar de que se estudie esta problemática desde su traducción, el estudio de su recepción es poco abordado en el contexto latinoamericano. Esta investigación busca analizar la recepción de los espectadores frente al doblaje del lenguaje tabú de drama Euphoria y el de la serie de comedia Veep en base a sus reacciones y la repercusión de dichas expresiones. Para ello, se analizará las estrategias de traducción que se utilizaron para el doblaje de estas expresiones. Posteriormente, mediante un estudio de recepción, se medirá la aceptación de los espectadores quienes posteriormente evaluarán la naturalidad y funcionalidad del lenguaje tabú. Para llevar a cabo este estudio se hará un corpus paralelo, así como también una encuesta y un grupo focal a jóvenes adultos.

Several studies have analyzed the translation of taboo expressions into Latin American Spanish and these papers show a tendency towards attenuation and the use of euphemisms. Although they study this subject from a translation approach, studies from a reception approach are difficult to find in Latin America. The objective of this research is to analyze the reception of viewers to the dubbing of the taboo language used in the drama show Euphoria and the comedy show Veep based on their reactions and the repercussion of these expressions. For this purpose, translation strategies that were used for the dubbing of these expressions will be analyzed. Subsequently, through a reception study, we will measure the acceptance of the viewers who will then evaluate the naturalness and functionality of the taboo language.
