Pero, ¿Qué sucede cuando se presentan dificultades físicas, psicológicas y sensoriales que dificultan el aprendizaje? El proyecto apunta a este último grupo, específicamente aquellos que presentan ceguera y deficiencia visual, al ser el grupo que más trabas encuentra a la hora de enfrentarse a las dificultades propias del medio físico y construido. En el Perú, si bien la educación especial ha avanzado mucho, los niños con discapacidad siguen siendo mayoritarios entre la población no escolarizada. Al no existir suficientes centros especializados en invidentes, se les obliga a llevar en centros regulares o centros especializados en varias discapacidades, decayendo muchas veces en el abandono de sus estudios, al no tener el mismo ritmo de aprendizaje que los demás alumnos y a que no es posible enfocarse específicamente en sus necesidades de aprendizaje y sociabilización. Por ello, el proyecto se centra en el desarrollo de un centro de educación e inclusión para el invidente y con deficiencia visual, que además de ser una respuesta a la necesidad educativa, busca ser un espacio que, mediante un enfoque sensorial y social, fomente la inclusión del invidente con el vidente y la sociedad. A lo largo de los siguientes capítulos, se detallará las necesidades de este grupo, así como las razones que llevaron a la elección del lugar, toma de partido, desarrollo espacial, entre otras.

The project targets this latter group, specifically those who are blind and visually impaired, as this is the group that encounters the most obstacles when facing the difficulties of the physical and built environment. In Peru, although special education has come a long way, children with disabilities continue to be the majority among the out-of-school population. As there are not enough specialized centers for the blind, they are forced to attend regular centers or centers specialized in various disabilities, often leading to abandonment of their studies, as they do not have the same learning pace as other students, since it is not possible to specifically target their learning and socialization needs. For this reason, the project focuses on the development of an education and inclusion center for the blind and visually impaired, which, in addition to being a response to the educational need, seeks to be a space that, through a sensory and social approach, fosters the inclusion of the blind with the sighted and society.
