Se calculó el tamaño de la muestra y se recopilaron datos sobre variables como edad, sexo, consumo de tabaco, consumo de alcohol, consumo de café y consumo de té. Se utilizó estadística descriptiva e inferencial, incluida la regresión logística, para analizar los datos. Resultados: Aunque no se encontraron diferencias significativas en la edad y el sexo entre los grupos con y sin la enfermedad, se observaron diferencias significativas en la estatura y en la razón cintura-estatura entre los grupos. Además, se identificaron asociaciones significativas entre el consumo de alcohol y el consumo de té y la presencia de la enfermedad. El análisis multivariado mostró que la edad y el consumo de alcohol estaban significativamente asociados con la enfermedad, con un aumento del riesgo por cada año adicional de edad y un riesgo considerablemente mayor en los consumidores de alcohol. Conclusión: Este estudio sugiere que la razón cintura-estatura, la edad y los hábitos de consumo de alcohol y té pueden tener un papel en el pronóstico de la enfermedad vesicular calculosa en pacientes con síntomas sugestivos. Estos hallazgos destacan la importancia de considerar estos factores en la evaluación de riesgo y enfoques preventivos en esta población

Methods: An observational study was carried out in the General Surgery Service of the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo between August and October 2023. Patients older than 30 years with confirmatory ultrasound studies were included. The sample size was calculated and data were collected on variables such as age, sex, tobacco consumption, alcohol consumption, coffee consumption and tea consumption. Descriptive and inferential statistics, including logistic regression, were used to analyze the data. Results: The study included 343 patients with suspected calculous gallbladder disease. Although no significant differences in age and sex were found between the groups with and without the disease, significant differences in height and waist-to-height ratio were observed between the groups. In addition, significant associations were identified between alcohol consumption and tea consumption and the presence of the disease. Multivariate analysis showed that age and alcohol consumption were significantly associated with disease, with an increased risk for each additional year of age and a significantly increased risk in alcohol consumers. Conclusion: This study suggests that waist-to-height ratio, age, and alcohol and tea drinking habits may play a role in predicting calculous gallbladder disease in patients with suggestive symptoms.
