description Determinar si existe relación entre la calcificación del ponticulus posticus y la clase esqueletal observadas en imágenes radiográficas cefalométricas laterales del centro radiológico de la Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego 2016 - 2023. Materiales y métodos: El estudio fue transversal, descriptivo, retrospectivo y observacional. Se evaluaron 172 radiografías cefalométricas de varones y mujeres, de un rango de edad entre (15 a 55 años) que asistieron al centro radiológico de Trujillo UPAO. Se utilizó una ficha de recolección de datos para determinar la confiabilidad mediante el coeficiente Kappa de Cohen. Resultados: De las 172 Imágenes radiográficas laterales que se observaron, en 47 casos se encontró la presencia del PP, predominando su ausencia en las 3 clases esqueletales, donde se halló el mayor porcentaje de PP tipo parcial fue en la clase III con un 24.14%. Para la presencia del PP según edad se halló un mayor porcentaje en los rangos de 15 a 24 años de (21.74%) y 25 a 34 años de (20.83%). Según el sexo se halló una diferencia mínima en el PP, de 47 casos encontrados; 19 fueron calcificaciones parcial en mujeres. Conclusiones: No existe una relación significativa entre el PP y las clases esqueléticas en la muestra total de imágenes evaluadas en el centro radiológico de UPAO

Materials and methods: The study was cross-sectional, descriptive, retrospective and observational. A total of 172 cephalometric radiographs of men and women, aged between 15 and 55 years, who attended the radiological center of Trujillo UPAO, were evaluated. A data collection form was used to determine reliability using Cohen’s Kappa coefficient. Results: Of the 172 lateral radiographic images that were observed, the presence of PP was found in 47 cases, its absence predominating in the 3 skeletal classes, where the highest percentage of partial PP was found was un class III with 24.14%. For the presence of PP according to age, a higher percentage was found in the ranges of 15 to 24 years of age 21.74% and 25 to 34 years of age 20.83%. According to sex, a minimal difference was found in the PP, out 47 cases found; 19 were partial calcifications in women.
