Se evaluaron variables clínico-patológicas y se aplicaron análisis bivariado y regresión logística multivariada. Resultados: La infiltración perineural estuvo presente en el 82.4% de los pacientes con recurrencia bioquímica, frente al 61.7% de los que no la presentaron, siendo esta asociación estadísticamente significativa en el análisis bivariado (p=0.037; OR=2.901; IC 95%: 1.042–8.076). Mientras que, la edad avanzada (p=0.007) fue la única variable interviniente que tuvo asociación significativamente con la recurrencia. Conclusiones La infiltración perineural se asocia a mayor riesgo de recurrencia bioquímica, al igual que la edad avanzada.

Materials and methods: This was an observational, analytical, case-control study involving 94 patients with histopathologically confirmed localized prostate adenocarcinoma. Patients were divided into two groups: with and without biochemical recurrence, defined as PSA ≥0.2 ng/mL in at least two consecutive measurements. Clinical and pathological variables were assessed using bivariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression. Results: Perineural invasion was present in 82.4% of patients with biochemical recurrence compared to 61.7% without recurrence, showing a statistically significant association in the bivariate analysis (p=0.037; OR=2.901; 95% CI: 1.042–8.076).. Advanced age (p=0.007), is significantly associated with recurrence. Conclusions: Perineural invasion is associated with an increased risk of biochemical recurrence in bivariate analysis.
