Resultados: El mejor punto de corte del índice neutrófilo/ linfocito como predictor de bacteremia fue 5.5 correspondiéndole una sensibilidad, especificidad, valor predictivo positivo y negativo de 71%, 82%, 75%, 79%; respectivamente. El área bajo la curva fue de 0.80. Conclusiones: El punto de corte de 5.5 del índice neutrófilo/ linfocito ofrece el mejor perfil predictivo con gran significancia estadística para bacteremia en pacientes críticos. El área bajo la curva calculada le confiere exactitud intermedia.

Material and methods: Retrospective, observational, diagnosis test study to aplicate in 115 critically ill. We calculated the sensibility, specificity, positive and negative predictive value to mortality in acute coronary syndrome. We calculated the chi square test and the area under the curve. Results: The best cut off value to neutrophil lymphocyte index to predict bacteremia was 5.5 and sensibility, specificity, positive and negative predictive value was 71%, 82%, 75%, 79% respectively . The under the curve area were 0.80. Conclusions: The best cut off value of neutrophil lymphocyte index were 5.5 and this offers the better predictive value with a great estadistical significance to bacteremia in critically ill patients.
