Se trabajó con una muestra de 140 futbolistas varones amateurs en competencia de 21 a 31 años de equipos de futbol de la ciudad de Piura, para ello se aplicaron dos cuestionarios de tipo Likert, los cuales miden el nivel de motivación y ansiedad presente en los deportistas, el cuestionario de la Escala de Motivación Deportiva (EMD) fue sometido a una validez de expertos debido a la antiguedad de su modificación. Los resultados obtenidos tras la aplicación y análisis de datos indican que no existe una relación significativa entre ambas variables, dando un sig. bilateral de ,369 (p>.05) utilizando rho de Spearman, concluyendo que no existe correlación entre la motivación y ansiedad deportiva en futbolistas, abriendo así, la puerta a nuevas investigaciones que exploren la influencia de otras variables en el rendimiento deportivo y el bienestar psicológico de los futbolistas varones amateurs en competencia de 21 a 31 años de equipos de fútbol de la ciudad de Piura

The methodology is a non-experimental design of descriptive-correlational type, we worked with a sample of 140 male amateur football players in competition from 21 to 31 years of age from football teams in the city of Piura, for which two Likert-type questionnaires were applied, which measure the level of motivation and anxiety present in the athletes. The Sport Motivation Scale (EMD) questionnaire was subjected to expert validity due to the age of its modification.
