Se obtuvo las medidas del biotipo facial según el análisis de Ricketts, del ángulo goniaco, altura de la rama y medida del cuerpo de la mandíbula según el análisis de Jarabak y de la longitud de la mandíbula según el análisis de Mc Namara. Se empleó el análisis de varianza (ANOVA) y prueba de Kruskal-Wallis según el resultado de la evaluación de normalidad y homogeneidad de varianzas. Se consideró un nivel de significancia del 5%. RESULTADOS: Se encontró que existe diferencia entre el biotipo facial con las medidas del ángulo goniaco (p< 0.001), la altura de la rama (p=0,013) y la medida del cuerpo mandibular (p=0,002), pero no existe diferencia con la longitud mandibular (p=0,973) en sujetos Clase II de 16 a 25 años de edad. CONCLUSIÓN: Se observó que a mayor ángulo goniaco, mayor tendencia a dolicofacial; además, cuanto mayor es la altura de la rama y la medida del cuerpo mandibular, mayor es la tendencia al braquifacial

MATERIAL AND METHOD: The study had a cross-sectional, comparative, retroprolective and observational design. A total of 160 cephalometric analyzes of subjects aged 16 to 25 years were reviewed. Measurements of the facial biotype were obtained according to the analysis of Ricketts, of the gonial angle, height of the ramus and measurement of the body of the mandible according to the analysis of Jarabak and of the length of the mandible according to the analysis of Mc Namara. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Kruskal-Wallis test were used according to the result of the evaluation of normality and homogeneity of variances. A significance level of 5% was considered.
