Para poder explicar este objetivo se utilizó como variable dependiente, la producción del café en las regiones cafetaleras del Perú, tomado de las series anuales de la producción del café y como variable independiente, al precio internacional del café, tomado del indicador de precio internacional del café de la Organización Internacional del Café (OIC). Para lograr los objetivos propuestos se realizó un análisis gráfico, con tipo y nivel de investigación correlacional y explicativa; utilizando el modelo econométrico de mínimos cuadrados generalizados (ponderación de sección cruzada) con efectos fijos individuales para Datos Panel y una muestra de 16 regiones para el periodo 2000 al 2017. Para un mejor ajuste del modelo se incluyeron variables control: precio en chacra, superficie, rendimiento y exportaciones del café, que son parte estructural de la variable producción del café para poder capturar el efecto del precio internacional en la producción de café. Mediante esta estimación se encontró que el precio internacional del café tiene una relación positiva en la producción nacional del café. Por lo tanto, un aumento en la variación porcentual del precio internacional del café en 1% aumenta en 0.0684 % la producción total de café en el promedio de las regiones, es decir, la oferta de las regiones cafetaleras respecto del precio es inelástica

In order to explain this relationship, the production of coffee in the coffee regions of Peru is defined as a dependent variable, taken from the annual series of coffee production and as an independent variable, the international price of coffee, taken from the international price indicator of Coffee from the International Coffee Organization (OIC). To better fit the model, control variables were included: farm price, area, yield and coffee exports, which are a structural part of the coffee production variable in order to capture the effect of international price on coffee production.
