description Objetivo: Estudiar la prevalencia de ansiedad y Sindrome de Burnout en Médicos residentes según horas de trabajo del Hospital III José Cayetano Heredia Piura 2018. Metodología: Estudio tipo censal a los médicos residentes del Hospital III José Cayetano Heredia Piura mediante los test de HAD y Escala BSI para determinar los niveles de ansiedad y Sd. De Burnout según horas de trabajo d manera anónima en el año 2018. Resultados: Se contó con una participación total de 29 residentes de los cuales el 68,96% (20) fueron del sexo masculino, las especialidades con mayor cantidad de residentes encontrada fueron Cirugía General; así también 14 médicos residentes (48,30%) manifestaron una carga laboral entre las 70-100 horas semanales aproximadamente. Encontramos significancia para Burnout factores como: Sexo Masculino (p=0,048), llevar la especialidad de Medicina Interna (p=0,032) o Neurocirugía (p= 0,041); así también ser soltero(a) (p= 0,02) y en cuanto a los años de estudio en la residencia pertenecer al segundo año (p< 0,001) así como al quinto año (p= 0,04). Conclusión: Existe presencia de Ansiedad y Burnout en Médicos residentes del Hospital III-1 José Cayetano Heredia Piura así como sus factores para su aparición son en el caso de Ansiedad: sexo Femenino, llevar especialidades como Medicina Interna o Neurocirugía.
