description La presente investigación, titulada “Estudio de zonificación de suelos con fines de cimentación para la habilitación urbana del sector Florida Alta – Cajamarca” tuvo como objetivo zonificar el sector Florida Alta – Cajamarca, mediante la clasificación de suelos (SUCS) y la capacidad portante del suelo para viviendas unifamiliares en la expansión urbana del sector. Hoy en día las diferentes ciudades experimentan un acelerado proceso de urbanización, cuyos habitantes construyen sus viviendas en zonas inestables, debido a que no se realizan estudios que garanticen la estabilidad de suelo de fundación, es por ello que se decidió realizar este trabajo de investigación. Para llevar a cabo esta investigación se buscó zonificar estratégicamente la ubicación de calicatas de las cuales se extrajeron muestras para posteriormente determinar sus propiedades físicas y mecánicas, determinando de esta manera su capacidad de carga que presenta está zona y finalmente realizar un diseño de cimentaciones superficiales.

Nowadays, the different cities experience an accelerated process of urbanization, whose inhabitants build their homes in unstable areas, due to the fact that no studies are carried out that guarantee the stability of the foundation soil, which is why it was decided to carry out this research work.
