Sumario: | The present research thesis entitled: “Use of popular songs to improve pronunciation in English, second high school at C.E.E. Rafael Narváez, Trujillo - 2018”. Its purpose is to answer the following question: To what extent does the use of popular songs influence the improvement of English pronunciation in students in the second year of secondary school in the C.E.E Rafael Narváez Cadenillas, Trujillo-2018?_x000D_ The study involved a population of 139 students, where the sample was 71 students, which in turn was divided into two groups: an experimental group and a control group._x000D_ It was based on a simple random technique that served to define the experimental group and control group mentioned above._x000D_ Likewise, in order to carry out this research, data collection instruments were used to compare a pre-test and post-test whose results were analyzed with the help of information processing techniques to show, the situation before applying the method, the individual progress of students and the achievement of learning through the application of the method._x000D_ In addition, 5 mini-sessions were applied, consisting of small classes given to the experimental group using popular songs, and to the control group using the conventional method, where in each evaluated class the improvement of the pronunciation of English in the experimental group could be seen._x000D_ According to the results found in this research, it can be said that there is a correlation between the pronunciation of English and popular songs, which shows that students get a significant improvement in their performance._x000D_ And for future researches, the number of mini-sessions in both groups should be increased, as well as the duration of them for better results, as well as to use other teaching resources that support the improvement of pronunciation in English as small dialogues with vocabulary according to the level. |
