| Sumario: | The influence of the current density was studied in increased power generation biofuel cell starch. The process consisting of a single was made in electrochemical bioceldas equipped with graphite electrodes. The energy produced with a digital multimeter. Tests were performed by varying the starch concentration (0.5 / 75, 1/75, 2/75 and 4/75 g / mL), and measuring electrode contact area (1.6, 4.12, 9.5 and 19 cm2). The results show that the system with 1/75 g / mL of starch and 4.12 cm2 of electrode contact area reaches values of 2.05 μA / cm2 and the system with 0.5 / 75 g / mL of starch and 1.6 cm2 of electrode area reaches values of 5.58 μA / cm2, being the highest values of the series connection tests, in which values of voltage of 1300 mV were reached. The results indicate that the current density decreases with increasing starch concentration in the system, as well as with large electrode areas; However it is demonstrated that it is the kinetics of the reaction that dominates the behavior of the system and that a scaling can be carried out which could be beneficial for the food industries since they could use their effluents rich in starch to generate electricity |
