Sumario:Objective: To determine if there is an association between regional anesthesia and early complications in hip surgery. Materials and Methods: Descriptive, retrospective, longitudinal and correlational study, with simple randomization. 100 medical records of patients undergoing hip surgery in the Orthopedics and Traumatology unit of the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital were reviewed. Results: 30% presented early complications, of these 22% were cardiopulmonary and 10% gastrointestinal. In 65% spinal anesthesia was used and in 29% combined anesthesia. Conclusion: There is no statistically significant association between regional anesthesia and early complications in hip surgery.
