This correlational descriptive research was conducted in the nurses of Medicine Services from Hospital Belén de Trujillo, in order to determine the relationship of the level of knowledge and practice of nursing care in the prevention of pressure ulcers. The sample universe consisted of 22 nurses to which we applied the following instruments: "Survey on level of knowledge of the nurse in the prevention of pressure ulcers" and "Test to assess the practice of nursing care in preventing of pressure ulcers". The results were processed in SPSS version 15.0 and presented in simple tables and double numerical and percentage frequencies. The statistical analysis was applied to test Gamma. We found that 45.45 percent of nurses have a level of knowledge half, 54.5 percent percent of nurses have a regular practice of care, results show no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and practice of nursing care in the prevention of pressure ulcers (P = 0.885).
