Establecer la caracterización de consumo de medicamentos en adultos mayores que acuden a Farmacias y Boticas del Distrito de Jesús María – Lima 2022. Investigación básica, cuantitativa, descriptiva, transversal, y de diseño no experimental. Se aplicó una encuesta a pobladores mayores a 60 años en el distrito de Jesús María Lima. El 60,32% son del sexo femenino y 39.68% del sexo masculino. El 57.14% son casados. El 44.44% tienen edades comprendidas entre 60 a 69 años. El 33.33% tienen educación básica, 37.3% de instrucción superior no universitario y 29.37% instrucción universitaria. La patología más frecuente es la Hipertensión arterial 32.01%, Artrosis y artritis 15.62%, Diabetes mellitus tipo II 12.43%, y con 8.73% insomnio. Grupo farmacológico de mayor consumo los antihipertensivos 25.4%, analgésicos/AINES 15.08%, hipoglicemiantes 11.9%. El 81.75% adquieren sus medicamentos con prescripción médica y 18.25% lo hacen sin prescripción médica. El 53,17% son polifarmacos. El 92.06% cumplen con su tratamiento terapéutico. El 60,32% tienen buena información. 60,32% son del sexo femenino, 57.14% son casados, con edad media de 72 años. La patología más frecuente es la Hipertensión arterial y el grupo farmacológico de mayor consumo son los antihipertensivos, las tres cuartas partes de la población adquieren sus medicamentos con prescripción médica, 53,17% son polifármacos y la mayoría cumplen con su tratamiento terapéutico. ----- Establish the characterization of medication consumption in older adults who go to Pharmacies and Pharmacies in the District of Jesús María – Lima 2022. Basic, quantitative, descriptive, transversal, and non-experimental design research. A survey was applied to residents over 60 years of age in the district of Jesús María Lima. 60.32% are female and 39.68% are male. 57.14% are married. 44.44% are between 60 and 69 years old. 33.33% have basic education, 37.3% have non-university higher education and 29.37% have university education. The most frequent pathology is high blood pressure 32.01%, osteoarthritis and arthritis 15.62%, diabetes mellitus type II 12.43%, and insomnia with 8.73%. Pharmacological group with the highest consumption: antihypertensives 25.4%, analgesics/NSAIDs 15.08%, hypoglycemics 11.9%. 81.75% acquire their medications with a medical prescription and 18.25% do so without a medical prescription. 53.17% are polypharmaceuticals. 92.06% comply with their therapeutic treatment. 60.32% have good information. 60.32% are female, 57.14% are married, with an average age of 72 years. The most common pathology is high blood pressure and the most consumed pharmacological group is antihypertensives, three quarters of the population acquire their medications with a prescription, 53.17% are polydrugs and the majority comply with their therapeutic treatment.
