The execution of the public budget, constitutes that process through which the necessary public resources are available to meet the different needs that have been programmed in a certain period, in order to be able to achieve the objectives and goals that were outlined for their fulfillment. The present study entitled "Analysis of the execution of the public budget by function of the District Municipality of Belén, period 2017-2021”, aims to determine the level of execution presented by public budget by function of the aforementioned municipality for the established period. In addition, the study was of a quantitative type and non-experimental descriptive design – cross-sectional. Finally, from the analysis and discussion of the results obtained, it was possible to determine that the public budget by function presents an average level of execution for the study period.
