Departamento Académico de SuelosLa Clasificación de Tierras de acuerdo a su Capacidad de Uso Mayor (CTCUM o CUM), es una herramienta técnica desarrollada para promover el uso racional del recurso suelo, bajo los criterios de obtener el máximo beneficio en la producción agropecuaria y forestal, la sostenibilidad económica y social, y el control de la degradación del suelo. En la quebrada Payhua, se evaluaron variables geográficas, climatológicas, biológicas y de cobertura vegetal. Resalta la presencia de andenerías prehispánicas en uso y abandonadas, siendo estas áreas donde se desarrolla algún tipo de actividad agropecuaria. Las bases de datos utilizadas se remiten a la experiencia del proyecto FONDES-SENAMHI ejecutado el año 2021, junto con el soporte de la evaluación de suelos, se procedió a la evaluación de las 1593.37 ha de la cuenca. El procesamiento de información se realizó con apoyo en el software ArcGIS 10.8 y procesadores de imágenes. Los resultados de la evaluación muestran que las tierras con mayor distribución son las correspondientes al grupo Tierras de Protección (X) que ocupan el 89.62% del área total de la quebrada, localizadas en terrenos de relieve accidentado, con laderas fuertemente empinadas, afloramientos rocosos y formando parte de lechos de río; en menor medida, tierras para Cultivo en Limpio (A) y Permanente (C) en andenerías en uso de las zonas bajas y medias de la cuenca y tierras para Pastos (P) y Forestales (F) en la parte alta. Una vez realizada la clasificación, cada grupo, clase y subclase de CUM se asoció a un conjunto de Prácticas de Gestión Sostenible del Suelo identificando las prácticas ya implementadas por los pobladores locales y realizando recomendaciones para la adopción de prácticas de conservación probada efectividadThe Land Capacity Classification according to its Greater Use (LCC), is a technical tool developed to promote the rational use of soil resources, under the criteria of obtaining the maximum benefit in agricultural and forestry production, economic and social sustainability, and the control of soil degradation. In the Payhua stream, geographical, climatological, biological and vegetation cover variables were evaluated. The presence of pre-Hispanic terraces in use and abandoned stands out, being these areas where some type of agricultural activity is carried out.
